  • Promote diversity in tech careers by nurturing young female coders
  • Build brand awareness among future employees
  • Optimise CSI spend by ensuring it can be allocated to Socio-Economic Development
  • Receive a pledge certificate
  • Involve your team in coaching young coders

STEP 1: Donate

Donate R15000 to sponsor 600 hours of coding for one girl.

Optionally, you can further your financial commitment and LEVEL UP as a sponsor:

R30000 makes you a Headline Sponsor of a Power of Coding Workshop

R45000 makes you a Featured Sponsor of a Classroom

R60000 makes you a Headline Sponsor of a Classroom

R90000 makes you a Featured Sponsor of Code Camp

R120000 makes you a Headline Sponsor of Code Camp

Donations over R15000 can be made in a combination of financial and in-kind donations (see note below).

Our priority needs for in-kind donations are:

  • use of computer labs
  • use of event spaces
  • laptops

Other items on our wish-list include:

  • Services: Communications; Marketing
  • Event catering
  • Gifts and prizes (vouchers; products)

NOTE:
A company must select either to attribute a donation as a tax deductible donation or a contribution to the company’s B-BEEE Socio Economic Spend

Section 18A: Financial and the above in-kind contributions can receive a Section 18A certificate to the full value of their proven value.
Every contribution needs a verification such as an invoice, time log or attendance register that directly ties your contribution to an event that benefits the girls.

STEP 2: Get involved (optional)

As a #FriendofCode4CT you have the option to get involved in our events and let South Africa’s most sought after future employees experience your company culture and brand first hand while giving your team a meaningful way to pass on their skills.

  • Host an Industry Immersion for a small group of girls
  • Host a Power of Coding workshop
  • Speak at a Code Conversation
  • Tutor in our classes
  • Run an internal fundraising drive
  • Become a drop-off spot for laptop donations

NOTE:
B-BBEE: Time donated is weighted at 80% of the value of the time (as verified according to their salaries).

STEP 3. Make it official

To get this off the ground, the next steps are to:

1. Meet with a Code4CT representative
Confirm your commitment and involvement in a meeting with a Code4CT representative. Complete this form to arrange an initial meeting or contact us by email/phone us to start a conversation.

2. Housekeeping

  • Confirm your financial commitment and provide your invoicing details
  • Confirm your involvement and sign an MOU
  • Provide details to be included on your certificates and your logo for inclusion on our website

3. Ready!

A member of our team will come and brief you as to how to start getting actively involved. We will broadcast your generosity on social media and feature our partnership on our website. You will receive your certificate as well as tax and B-BBEE documents.

Will my donation affect our B-BBEE status?

Code4CT is a project of Innovate South Africa which is a Level 1 entity and has audited Code4CT as an SED programme.

As a company in the ICT sector you can earn up to 12 points on your BBBEE scorecard by allocating your Socio Economic Spend (1.5%NPAT) to Code4CT. For non ICT companies, this is 5 points for 1% NPAT.

Financial and In-kind donations listed above are weighted at 100% of their proven value.

Time donated is weighted at 80% of the value of the time (as verified according to their salaries).

Every contribution needs a verification such as an invoice, time log or attendance register that directly ties your contribution to an event that benefits the girls. All claims are subject to audits by your company’s verification agency and Code4CT cannot guarantee compliance for points.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Code4CT is a project of Innovate South Africa, a registered NPO and PBO. As a Public Beneficiary Organisation we can issue South African donors with a Section 18A tax exemption certificate.

All donations including financial, in-kind and time contributions can receive a Section 18A certificate to the full value of their proven value.
